As some of you may know, there’s a fellow named Zerey who produces the parts for the GBA backlight kits that I employ (among the other goodies that he supplies). He’s been a great vendor and I wanted to make a little something to let him know I appreciate his efforts. So, I asked him what sort of gaming he does and it seems that the GBC is a favorite of his. Well, easy enough! Thank you, Zerey!
White paint job, amber power LED swap, and of course a front light treatment. Hope you enjoy it, good sir!

That looks awesome! When I order my front lit gameboy color, that’s definitely the color combo I’m going with!

I saw on some forums “They’re a snap to mod as long as you cut the front light assembly itself and not so much the GBC shell (which allows you to place the assmbly horizontally like it should be, instead of being illuminated from the side”
Is there any way you could take a picture of do a tutorial of what you do different? I can only find everyone modifying the shell.

Yup! That’s how I do it and it’s not too tricky at all. I’ll try and snap some pics next time I put one together for ya.

Speaking of a frontlit GBC, I’ve started to see some chinese backlit game boy knockoff starting to pop up on forums. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8404/8695197902_ac6c47e066_c.jpg
Any chance you could merge this with a regular GBC? I’d definitely be interested in that.

Hmm, I haven’t seen those yet. You have any links to where they can be found?

There’s a guy on youtube called Circuit Ben who did a bunch of teardown videos on the system. He said he’ll let people know the seller’s info if they message him (doesn’t want to post email publicly I guess?)
