The latest batch o’ micro faceplates have been ordered! I got the pre-paid custom designs in for those of you that wanted such, and I still have time to squeeze in more for those of you that I’m still talking with. I also added this little booger to the batch 😉
So, here’s the complete list of designs that will be in the coming batch. Stay tuned for updates.
I’ve had many, MANY requests for rechargeable battery packs for the GBA units that I mod and sell. I haven’t had much time to work on a service/product yet, but I did pick up a few of these and would like to offer them to some of you who’ve been asking about such a thing.
These are the Japanese part number combo AGB-003 & AGB-004 (battery pack and charger). I’ve got one of these for myself and I love it! Plus, it’s an original Nintendo part, so you know the quality is there.
These come packed in the usual wiggy manner and will look great on the shelf next to your RCG GBA light+ 😉
Send me a message if you’d like one. I’ve got 3, and I don’t imagine they’ll sit here for very long. $30 + shipping will get one.
I pride myself on being meticulous and nit-picky, and as such, I don’t do dirty. EVER. You will never receive a product from me, which employs a used piece of hardware, that is dirty, crusty, smelly, etc. It won’t happen. This is part of my process. Even if you send your own personal fresh and clean unit in, it will come back to you fresher and cleaner than when it arrived. I soak, spray, polish, scrub, wipe, and whatever else it takes to make sure these things are as close to factory fresh as humanly possible.
I’ve been trying to find the perfect example from which I can extract a very clear illustration of the lengths in which I will go in order to bring something back to life. That example arrived at my doorstep not long ago (I actually bought this one online knowing good and well how utterly disgusting it was). This is how it arrived, in a stinky padded envelope, wrapped in a sticky grocery bag.
Click on that sucker to see it in all its icky detail.
Amazingly, it worked. The buttons felt like they’re been soaked in Dr. Pepper and the power switch required a pry bar to slide, and it smelled like it had consumed an entire carton of Philly Blunts on its own, but it worked. Success! This IS the Gameboy I’ve been looking for!
Believe it or not, this is the exact same unit. The only replacement parts were a battery cover (since none was present) and a glass lens. EVERYTHING else is original.
See that plastic cup in the upper-left corner? Yup, that’s what remains of the stuff used to clean this thing. A dozen or so Q-tips, a fistful of paper towels, about a third of a magic eraser, etc. Not to mention the strain that this thing put on my cleaning products 😛 I would actually feel comfortable licking this GBA at this point. Now its something that I would have no issue with handing off to a customer.
And I do it all for you! 🙂
This is TyrannicalFascist again.
The Products and Services pages (on the drop-down menu) are now up-to-date with the latest availability and pricing. Images of a lot of these products are coming soon, though many can be found in the news posts.
The How to Order page is also up-to-date, with a form you can fill out to contact Wiggy. Use this for placing an order and any product questions you have. He’s received many orders and requests lately, so this way he can keep track of your order via email, rather than sifting through comments on different posts.
Also, if you’ve purchased from RCG before, post your feedback on the Feedback page, also located on the top menu bar.
More to come!
So these are what I came up with for the next round. I’d love to hear what you guys and gals think before I spend the big $$$ to order a batch. I plan on ordering a lot more of the most popular designs from the last round as well, so don’t fret if you’re holding out for one of those designs.
First up, The Hyrule Special. I wanted to do something really unique for this one since it’s by far and away my own personal favorite Nintendo franchise. What will make this so special is the triforce itself. It’s gold leaf. Yes. Real gold leaf.
So, these aren’t gonna be cheap. I need to know from you folks whether or not going all out like this is worth some extra $$$. I don’t have an exact price yet, but will soon. I also plan on special packaging (big shock, right?) for them.
And these little guys should be pretty self-explanatory, I just want to hear some feedback from all of ya’.
So, let me know what you think. I’d like to place an order ASAP since I’ve got quite a few people who’ve already put deposits down for the older designs and some have done so for their own, unique designs 🙂
To the room right below 😛
But seriously, things are really picking up here thanks to all you lovely folks, and I need to move the office/studio in order to make room for some new equipment and whatnot. I’m trying to maintain a workspace while swapping a bedroom and office at the same time. So, if I seem a little slow to get back to you lately, that’s why. Have no fear though, I’m still a modding fool and am working as hard as humanly possible to tend to everyone’s orders, requests, comments, etc.
I’m also drawing up some seriously serious Goddess and Link artwork today for these lovely gold carts that I have sitting here. It’s been a while since I picked up a pencil. No Google-sourced artwork for these bad boys. That’s not how we do things 😉
As always, stay tuned…
So, I’m getting closer to competing the initial repro offering from RCG. Let me tell you that these have more love and hard work poured into them than just about anything else I’ve done up to this point, and I’ve got a ton more to do.
Off to get a much needed makeover.
Yup, first offering will be limited to just 5 sets. Anymore and I don’t think I’d ever finish them.
More to come…
