I’ve started the testing and cleanup process for each, which is actually something I recently documented to better illustrate how much love and work gets poured into these. As always, stay tuned…
are you planning to frontlit the gameboy colors? and what about the classics, do you do mods like prosound and clock bending? and i wanted to ask you sir do you sell the ribbons for the gba them self? i have two asg 101 broken ones here for years..also i love the micro faceplate really awesome
Yup, I can front light the GBC for ya! I haven’t dabbled in the prosound stuff at all yet. I may look into it eventually, but just not this moment. I don’t sell the ribbons on their own at this point. The problem is that there are 2 different versions of the LCD and they aren’t both compatible with the ribbon that I carry. It’s caused issues and confusion the few times I’ve sold them on their own, so I stopped and only sell them as part of the kit.
okay cool, how much would you be selling the gameboy colors for? i might get one,so no ribbons by them self huh, i had bought a kit from zerey, real easy to install, now i want to get all my gba with backlights lol. and about the dmg gameboys pretty sure youre going to backlight mod them also right? would you be biverting them if someone wants that?
I haven’t received any email with a deposit down for one. Please sent me one with info about payment and sending. I’m spanish and I want a black gba. Thanks.
wow so impressed with your work, i really want to send in my own gba to get a backlit screen a replacement lens and i think i need to clean it as the down on the dpad doesnt register unless you press hard and in my past experience that means there is dirt on the connection, oh and also a new paint job, i just don’t know what to do since your order page isn’t up yet and i understand you have a lot of work but i would love to get the ball rolling on this, i suppose i could just order your backlit kit but i have no idea what im doing, well looking forward to hearing from you
Don’t worry about cleaning it (unless it’s super gross). I clean EVERY GBA that passes through my hands EXTREMELY thoroughly. In fact, I just documented the cleaning of a really, REALLY nasty GBA that came to me in a large lot of portables. I’ll have pics up before too long so you ladies and gents can see how my OCD makes a better product for you 😉
I’ll send you an email and we can get things set up ASAP.
Prices are finally on the site (up top, under products/services -> system mods). For a teal front lit GBC you’d be looking at $55 plus shipping ($5 within the US).
Comes with the front light installed, new lens, and hard care packaging/storage.
The units I currently have on hand are all from Japan
I’m working towards having a stock of units ready to go, but don’t currently have anything on hand. I’m actually going to spend the next few weeks rebuilding the site, tweaking my process for just about everything, and building an inventory of modded systems to help keep up with the demand. Keep an eye on the FB and the site for updates!
